This page is where we say what's in progress, what's coming next, and what's further out. It's a list of intentions, not promises. What we ship and the order we ship it in depend on what clients tell us they actually need. If you see something here you'd really want — or something useful that's missing — let us know.
In progress
- Faster, more consistent site delivery. Tightening our build process so every new site goes from kickoff to live in under three weeks — with the same quality bar regardless of the size of the brief.
- Card payments alongside Direct Debit. Adding card via Stripe as an alternative to the Direct Debit already in place, so clients can pay whichever way suits them.
Coming next
- A unified client dashboard. One place to see your site's uptime, the changes we've made for you this month, the latest deploy, and (Tier 3+) your privacy-friendly analytics. Replaces the “email us and we'll send you a screenshot” round-trip.
- Deterministic auto-rollback. If a deploy breaks something, we automatically revert to the last known-good version. The honest version of “self-healing” — not an AI with a keyboard, just disciplined snapshots and a one-click restore.
- Extended AI-assisted monitoring. Beyond uptime: broken-content detection, layout regression checks, and plain-language alerts when something on your site looks off. Still read-only and notify-only — never writes to or executes on your site.
Further out
- An ongoing-SEO service line. Content and ranking work as a separate recurring product, for clients who want sustained search effort beyond the foundations every Beacon site already ships with.
Recently shipped
- Automatic monthly billing, set up online. Choose a managed plan and set up Direct Debit (GoCardless) through an on-domain checkout — bank details never touch our servers, and the monthly fee runs quietly in the background instead of arriving as an invoice.
- First-party, cookieless analytics and a double-opt-in newsletter — now live on our own site, and rolling out to Tier 3 plans as the “insights” layer: your own visitor analytics and mailing list, under your own privacy notice, with a plain-English snapshot of last month’s visitors emailed to you on the 1st.
- Beacon's own multi-page site: homepage, About, Privacy notice, Terms, and a public Status page.
- Automated status monitoring — a cron-based Worker checks four components every 30 minutes and writes the result into the status page above. So the page can't silently lie about whether things are up.
- Uptime monitoring across managed client sites — an automated check watches every site we host and alerts us the moment one goes down or starts erroring, so we usually know before you do.
- Sitewide security defaults (CSP, HSTS, Permissions-Policy, secure referrer policy) baked into every Beacon site, not just our own.
- Self-hosted Outfit + Rubik fonts — no Google Fonts call from any page, so no visitor data leaks to a third party.
What would you find useful?
The shape of this roadmap is meant to be shaped by what real clients ask for. If something on the “Coming next” or “Further out” list would be a game-changer for you, tell us — it might move up. If something useful isn't on the list at all, tell us that too. hello@beaconwebstudio.uk or the contact form.
