About

A small studio for local businesses.

Built and run from Fife, Scotland.

Why Beacon exists

Most local businesses end up in one of two bad spots when it comes to a website. Either they don't have one, because every agency quote opened at £3,000 and felt opaque. Or they have one, but no-one can update it — built once by someone who has long since moved on, and now stuck somewhere between out of date and embarrassing.

Beacon is the third option. A fair build fee, a small monthly to keep the site running, and a single number on the invoice each month. Want the opening hours changed? That's a one-line email and it's done by the next working day — not a £180 change-request bill from an account manager you've never met.

What this means in practice

  • Plain prices on the pricing page. What's listed is what you pay. No quote game.
  • Rolling monthly on Tiers 2–4. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice. Tier 1 is a one-off and we hand over the files at delivery.
  • Minor content changes included. Opening hours, prices, photos, copy edits — on the managed plans, those are part of what you're paying monthly for.
  • Your domain is yours. Registered in your name, always. If you ever leave, the domain goes with you. So does the built site (see Terms for the details).
  • We don't collect data on you or your visitors for our own purposes. The Privacy notice spells out exactly what we touch and why.

What we don't do

  • 60-page proposals or sales calls about “synergies”.
  • Lock you into 12-month minimum contracts.
  • Charge you extra to fix something we got wrong.
  • Describe AI-assisted monitoring as “security” — it detects and flags problems quickly, it doesn't prevent them.
  • Build for big-budget creative agencies. That's a different business with a different price tag, and we're not it.

Why local matters

Most of our work is for businesses across Scotland and the wider UK. Local matters when something breaks on a Saturday morning — you want to know who's at the other end of the email, not which timezone the support queue is in this week. We're built to look after our clients properly, not to scale to ten thousand of them. It's a deliberate choice.

Want to talk?

The contact form goes straight to hello@beaconwebstudio.uk. We reply within one working day. There's no “discovery call” gate before that conversation — just tell us what you do and where you are, and we'll come back with a free working preview of a site for your business. If you like it, we tailor it properly and put it live. If you don't, the preview comes down and we both get on with our day.
